We had good weekend of wrestling at the Coast Classic at North Bend HS, one of the tougher early season tournaments in the sate. As a team, the boys placed 12th out of 41 teams with 3 placers and the girls placed 8th out of 398teams with 3 placers and one champion, Layla Morris who was also awarded Outstanding Wrestler of the girls lower weight division!

On Saturday, Layla Morris claimed the 115 Pound State Title defeating Ivy Mcintonsh by fall in the state finals.

Layla is the first ever State Champion in Mountainside Wrestling History and first ever State Champion at Mountainside High School!

We had a great weekend at the Oregon State Wrestling Tournament as both boys and girls finished in the top 10!  Overall we had 6 State Placers, 3 Boys and 3 Girls which is the most placers we have ever had, and we had our first ever State Champion at Mountainside as Layla Morris took first at 115!

The Mavericks claimed the Metro League District Tournament Title on Saturday, February 17th!

Overall we had 19 District Placers, 5 Champions and ended up with 13 State Qualifiers which is the most we have ever qualified.
