We had an unforgettable two days at the State Tournament, bringing home a 4th Place State Team Trophy, the highest team finish in Mountainside Wrestling history and the first time bringing home a State Trophy for our program.
Every single wrestler competed and battled in each and every match and contributed to our overall team score. As we’ve said all season, our depth showed and it was a total team effort. We would not have finished where we did without everyone on this team contributing and battling in every match.
Top 4 Teams: Newberg 245, West Linn 187, Forest Grove 131.5, Mountainside 116
State Tournament Placers:
1st Place & STATE CHAMPION ISAAC CONNER 150 & Outstanding Wrestler
As a team, we finished with 23 District Placers (A new school record), crowned 4 District Champions, and qualified 16 wrestlers for the State Tournament. It is a direct reflection of the time, effort, and dedication our wrestlers have invested all season.
This has truly been a special group. The commitment, work ethic, and buy in from our entire team have been outstanding from day one. We have talked all year about the depth of this team, and it was incredibly rewarding to see that depth on full display at the tournament. It was a total team effort, with contributions coming from every part of our lineup.

Even though we came up short in the team race, we thought we gave it our best and left it all out there. Overall we had 16 District Placers, 4 Champions and ended up with 9 State Qualifiers. We have had a very hard working group, who have pushed and supported each other throughout the season and it was great to see the growth in everyone from where we started to where we ended yesterday. We have also been a very resilient group as we were always looking forward to the next challenge throughout the season as we navigated a very challenging schedule that demanded a lot out of our wrestlers!
